I've been thinking about the road that lays ahead and the question that everyone seems to ask me: When will you be going back to China? Will you be going on the next cultural exchange program?
I hope that I can participate in one of the next cultural exchange programs, but I've been thinking about the possibilities and what it would mean to visit China again. I would want to one day visit China again and see all the friends I have made and shared so much with. How I would take part of such a trip is questionable basically because of the money needed to take part in each cultural exchange program. The cultural exchange programs we offer are typically around $2800 and I could barely afford it the last time if it wasn't for the generous donations of people I've never met before. Taking a second trip would be great but not something that can be done out of the blue.
Additionally, the after-trip blues that I think got me worse than anyone else is a sick creature that has transformed me maybe for the better into believing that I should go back and experience all the great things I had experienced the first time. But as they say "Its A Once In A Life Time Opportunity". It's hard to accept but we need to accept it.

These opportunities are unique and something we wish we could capture and revisit again and again. I do believe in opportunity but only when you take control of it. It wouldn't really make much sense for me or anyone who has participated in such an experience to go back and do the same old thing. The only way that it would be different is if I had made a difference and went back bringing news and opportunities versus just going as another camper on a trip I can't afford.
I'm determined and I believe that I will make that difference.
Sincerely, Hector Guzman
