Curse the Internet!

The internet can be a great place but it has a nasty history of bringing more harm than good. Recently I have been afflicted with the greatness of the internet and experienced what I believe to be phishing. If you don't know what phishing is refer to the video below and get informed!

So I had gotten an email sent to my Hotmail account that required me to submit some personal information in reference to a screening they were running. The ad was very convincing seeing as the information I gave them knocked me out of both my MSN and Gmail email. They preached about how if I didn't submit my information, my account would be terminated and that it was a regular process; nothing I should be worried about.

For future reference, never submit any personal information through email. I've heard it said to me about a billion times yet it seems like I didn't think twice when I got that email. I think what fooled me into submitting my personal information was the threat of termination. Otherwise I don't think I would have been fooled so easily. Additionally, make connections with people, companies, and things you can actually see and touch or at least hear. Technology has allowed us to take the world by storm but can also bring the world too its knees when abused by the wrong people. Don't be one of those hackers who attack the innocent but rather inspire others to act accordingly on the internet and create an open community where children, adults, and stupid 16 year old boys can get along in relative peace.

So I basically need to wait 5 days to get back into my Gmail and archive all the messages I should be expecting. Hopefully in the time being I can get some work done: read some history, learn some Chinese and actually get a better grasp of what I want to do with my life in the next couple of months. Wish me luck.

Sincerely, Hector Guzman
