Optimistic or Just Foolish?
In today's world that's consumed by the fears and doubts of the everyday man, its hard to be optimistic. Its hard to look on the up side of things and hope that better times will come. Often we become bitter. We lose all hope on life and lack the ability to dream and pursue the things that we once loved so dearly. We instead resort to doing the bare minimum. Doing what will insure us another day and not what will insure us a better tomorrow. In retrospect it makes sense. To live in reality and do the things that we will insure us success in what we do, but it prevents us from living to our full potential. This philosophy of doing what's right and expected of us often inhibits man from creating and finding new opportunities in his world; a world so dynamic and pure that continues to grow before our very eyes. Does it thus not make sense to pursue life for all its opportunities? To live life to it fullest and what our purpose is on this Earth. That while on this Earth we have a purpose and that everyday we spend on it is meant for us to build towards fulfilling that purpose.
It's easy to confuse the the detail that blur the lines between reality and insanity. As young adults the world is our oyster. We have all the chance in the world to succeed and excel where man has failed in the past. We have the chance that they didn't. And in a perfect world we have all the reason to continue the legacy these men have set for us. However we do not live in a perfect world. We live in a world of fears and doubts. A world that has been scared into believing that being optimistic means being a fool. A fool that lives in his head and is incapable to seeing the world as it is today.
However times have always been tough, and will only continue to get harder. There is no such thing as a world where all the fears, doubts, and obstacles that stand in our way no longer exist. These obstacles are there to push us forward. To remind us that we shouldn't accept world the way it is but the way it should be. Being optimistic means going out and believing in change. Being open-minded to new ideas and reforms that can open doors to new opportunities.
It's understandable that we fear change. That making an investment in something we cannot control can give us reason not to invest. But then where do we start? When is it that we take the first leap forward onto bigger and better things. The world as we know it has gone under massive amounts of change in extended periods of time. The things we have today didn't just come out of thin air but through people who took a chance and stepped out of the norm. No one expects us to be entrepreneurs or rogue scholars. At the end of the day it is up to us as individuals to decide if we will one day lead our people onto bigger and better things or just follow the path that has already been established for us. In both cases we will leave our mark and it will reflect if we saw the world for all it wonders (optimistic) or saw it instead for all the things that could have gone wrong. (pessimistic)
