Election day is coming up next Tuesday and along with it the birth of the Scratch Moodle Course at North End Middle School!!! I'm so excited. I finally get the chance to teach the course I have worked so hard to bring to life. I'll be accompanied by my friend Norbert who helped build the course and a group of 4 teachers who will be teaching the course. We're expecting 70+ students and I'm not sure how we will divide the class amongst the 6 people who will be helping out.
If things go to plan, I think Norbert and I should be in charge of one of the classes. I hope that this is the case and that we can work hard with these students and meet our goal of having them use Scratch. This will be the first time the course is piloted as an after-school program and will hopefully give off the desire results. We've put a lot of hard work into this project and I can't wait to see how far we will go while teaching the course.
There are still some logistics that need to be taken of before we can insure us participating in the course. For instance, we need to figure out how Norbert and I will get to North End and back the day we will be teaching. Additionally, we need to get Scratch on all the computers and provide the students with the pdf we created so that they're all well equipped and ready to learn. Besides that I think we can some great stuff with this project and many other projects we hope to develop in the upcoming months.
Sincerely, Hector Guzman
