Meeting Our Limits

Today I am exhausted. I didn't get a chance to go to bed last night due to a project for a friend, homework for my brother, and other obligations that I have to address as soon as possible. Life only seems to get harder and harder as the days continue to fly by. The pile of things to do only continues to increase and along with it the comments of the surveyors. They are the ones who remind you that you are killing yourself. That your bad habits are gonna catch up to you. And usually try to make you think that they are right and are concerned with your well being.

Most of the time, they do care about your well being. They want to see you go far in life. And wouldn't wish you any harm that they wouldn't wish upon themselves. People like these are the ones who stick by us when the going gets tough. They remind us that we are not alone. That they are with us fighting this demon that has consumed our life.

Reaching our limits is where the doubts and scar begin to take shape. The exhaustion and desperation we are confronted with at these moments is often what makes us crack underneath the pressure. If there were only an easier solution. One that we had not seen before. But life isn't that easy. The answers to our problems do not just come out of thin air. We must be persistent and innovative if we want to find the solution to the problem we are dealing with.

In the long run being persistent pays off. Seeing the work we were able to accomplish proves that we were able to do it. The work might have been exhausting and the long hours we could have used to do something else will never be retrieved. Seeing the fruit of our labor is what makes it all worth it. The long hours we put into, the sleep we missed out on, and the fears we had are all justified once we achieve what we once thought was impossible.

Hopefully the brick walls that confront us along the way do not discourage us from doing something we know will pay off in the long run.

Sincerely, Hector Guzman
