Save the Bees!

I recently saw a documentary on the world's hardest work, the bee, and how they're quickly disappearing. The bees are dropping all over the world and the phenomenon is reaching critical conditions as farmers and local planters must find alternative way to pollenate their plants without the help of such small yet crucial animals.

Its unbelievable the amount of worker bees are able to accomplish in one day. Most of the food we eat is thanks to bees and the amount of work they're able to accomplish that would take us hours. There was actually a piece about artificial pollination in China by a small group of farmers who were rapidly losing trees in their orchard. The process however took 12 people using a small duster made of feathers to reflect the delicateness of a bee attached to a large pole. What the farmers were able to accomplish in day was what a bee is able to accomplish in a few hours.

It shocking that such a small creature could have such a powerful impact. Bees are responsible for all the honey we as Americans enjoy and the pollination of not only our food but the food of every other animal. Many state that without the bee life would be better. No longer would they disturb our picnics and sting our children. However life without the bee cannot exist and it is up to us to SAVE THE BEES!!!

Simple things that we can is plant more flowers for bees to pollenate and eat from. You wouldn't believe the number of bees that go starving because of the environments in which they are forced to live. Other measures that must be taken are how local farmers use pesticides. Millions of bees pollinated their last daisy when a cloud of pesticide invade the atmosphere. Stricter guidelines needs to be put into play if we wish to not go hungry in the future to come. Overall it is our job to reduce the amount of food we eat by being considerate of the hard work farmers need to put in and the amount of pesticides they are often faced with dispersing when it comes to meeting their quota.

If do not act now, it is predicted that the bees will face extinction by the year 2012 and you can only imagine how screwed well be when the bees no longer sting us, our food, our environment. Save the bees today!

Sincerely, Hector Guzman
