If only that phrase were true. Maybe I should back up before I explode all over the screen. So to give you a little background information, I'm a good guy. I'm prone to minding my own business and not crossing lines I know I shouldn't. However, time and time again there always seem to be those moments where you're trying to convince someone you're right and they act like a total child: an idiot, an imbecile, a real jerk because they have the horrible tendency of acting like an idiot when it comes to hearing the truth and admitting their wrong.

It all started in science one day after we were messing around after finishing a lab. We started messing around and out of no where the topic came up about the first successful slave rebellion and who that country had been supressed by.

**Note to self: Remember to write down the exact issue being discussed and each person's position. I did it to my brother once and the argument was over in less than 5 minutes with me achieving the results I wanted!! I will admit that it will take some practice and the fun out of proving people wrong, but the joy of rising victories is all the same.**

So I was trying to say that Haiti had the first successful slave rebellion under Napolean and that Mexico was also suppressed under Napoleon and that it wasn't until September 16, El Grito de La Liberta, that the Mexican people where able to achieve their independence from the Spanish rule. Apparently the person I was arguing with got confused with Napoleon and Mexico, lacking the ability to remember that Napoleon was a major factor in the Spanish Armenia and their control in Mexico. Additionally, how can you deny El Grito de La Liberta which includes Napoleon and an army of 500 soldiers who were defeated by a group Mexicans led by a priest who said enough is enough.

So from their the person really saw no better way of justifying their arguement then by insulting me and my intelligence. I was really rather frustrated at their ignorance, so I looked up the information in our history book from last year and found that page that literally described everything I said. Showing it to the person had no success as they continue to humiliate me rather than make their point by supplying facts that proved they were right. In the end, I knew I was right because I had a valid source to refer to.

**Arguments only thrive amongst people who think they are better than you. You'll never see a student argue with a teacher, but you'll definitely see a student argue with another student who they feel lacks to meet them at their level. These people usually think they're the best, yet quiver in the face of those who are a thousand times smarter than them. It disgust me!!**

In the end, there is no reason with these kind of people. The only way you will win is when you establish dominance and let them know that they don't stand a chance arguing with you and should shut their mouth. It sounds harsh, but being modest doesn't work now a days. You'll always run into the smart mouth punk who thinks he knows everything and yet is oblivious to his own flaws. That's why you tell them to act their age, and respect others: even if they're not an asshole like you.

Sincerely, Hector Guzman
